She has a degree in Economics and Business Studies from the University of Valencia (final year spent at Queen Mary and Westfield College in London on an Erasmus scholarship). She has completed the Executive Programme in Public Sector Governance at ESADE.

She has served as a member of the Senior Board of Economists and Trade Experts of the Spanish Administration since March 1997.

In Madrid, at the Ministry of Economy, she has served as Deputy Assistant Director of Multilateral Financial Institutions, Deputy Director General of the Technical Secretariat of the Government Delegate Committee for Economic Affairs, Head of Cabinet of the Secretary General for Economic Policy, Deputy Director General of Competition and Economic Regulation, and Deputy Director General of Economic Legal Order.

Outside Spain, she has served as Economic and Commercial Advisor at the Spanish Embassies in Honduras, Peru, Colombia and Canada.

She has served as a member of the Board of Directors at Enusa (Empresa Nacional del Uranio) and of the Sociedad Estatal Para El Desarrollo Del Diseño y La Innovación.

She has served as Chairperson of the Committee for the Recognition of Qualifications for the professions of economist, insurance actuary and commercial graduate.

She has worked on several publications such as Información Comercial Española; El Exportador; Gasto Público.

She is a member of the Advisory Board of Conexión España (a joint initiative of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, ICEX and the Spanish Brands Forum).

She currently serves as Deputy Director General for Foreign Investment at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise.
