FIEM

FIEM was created by Law 11/2010 of 28 June 2010, on the reform of the system of financial aid for the internationalisation of Spanish business, as an instrument for the financing of official aid for the internationalisation of Spanish business, managed by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, through the State Secretariat for Trade.

The fund’s objective is to promote Spanish companies’ export operations, as well as Spanish direct foreign investment companies, though the financing of operations and projects of special interest for the strategy to internationalise the Spanish economy. Financing may also be made available for the technical assistance that these operations and projects need, in both developed and developing countries.

In general, the financing will principally be implemented in the form of loans, credit and credit lines, although technical assistance and consultancy may also be provided, in addition to projects and operations, may also receive non-repayable funding where the specific circumstances so require.
