Guadalupe Fernández
Head of Risk
Guadalupe Fernández Nuevo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Economics from Carlos III University in Madrid.
She has spent her professional career at ICO where she has held various roles and responsibilities in different positions. Initially, she worked in the management team of intermediation lines with financial institutions, and since 2011 she has held senior roles involved in the design and implementation of ICO's asset products as Head of Product Development Department and Director of Product Development and RRF.
As Chief Risk Officer, she is responsible for designing and proposing the policies and methodologies for analysis, admission, management and monitoring of the Institute's credit risk. Similarly, she acts as a second line of defence through the independent evaluation of the Institute's financing operations. She also directs and coordinates the management of the risk portfolio, restructurings and recoveries, meets the requirements of supervisory bodies and coordinates relevant risk information.
The Risk Policy and Admission Department and the Monitoring and Recoveries Unit report to the Risk Management Directorate.
