Antonio Cordero Chief of Financial Markets and Mediation

Antonio Cordero holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Autonomous University of Madrid and MDP from IESE.

He began his career in the administration department at the head office of Credit Lyonnais Spain. In 1994 he joined Instituto de Crédito Oficial, where he has held various functions and positions in the areas of Financial Administration, International Finance and Capital Markets. In 2009, he became Deputy Head of Finance and Treasury.

As Chief of Financial Markets and Mediation, he is responsible for defining and executing ICO's financing strategy in the capital markets, ensuring efficient and diversified fund-raising and managing the relationship with investors, financial institutions, rating agencies and regulatory bodies. He directs the issuance of the various fixed-income instruments, manages the Institute's liquidity and supervises the overall management of the balance sheet (ALM), including structural risks and financial hedging, as well as defining the pricing policy for lending activity. 

He also gives impetus to the commercialisation and operational management of domestic mediation facilities with the financial sector, as well as leading the process digitalisation and automation within his scope of activity. 

The Financial Markets and Treasury Directorate, the National Intermediated Finance Directorate and the ALM and Global Risk Control Department report to this Directorate General.
